Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 8 September 2026
Identity and scope
These terms apply to services provided by Sir Tidy, the trading name of the sole proprietorship operated by Alexis José Briceño León, with its business address at Slauerhofflaan 16, 9721 ZP Groningen, registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce under KVK number 97580309, VAT identification number NL005279435B26 and email address alexis@sirtidy.nl.
They apply to both private and business clients. If a written quotation contains a different provision, the quotation will prevail for that assignment. These terms will be provided before the client accepts the quotation.
Services
Sir Tidy provides in-person and online professional organising services, including sorting and organising belongings, creating practical systems, reorganising rooms, seasonal support, moving support and guidance through household transitions. The specific scope is set out in each quotation.
Unless expressly agreed in writing, the service does not include deep cleaning, repairs, construction work, physical moving services, waste removal, handling hazardous materials, or medical, legal or financial advice. Sir Tidy undertakes to work professionally and with due care but does not guarantee a specific outcome or that the client will subsequently maintain the system created.
Initial contact, assessment and online services
The initial conversation,
lasting up to 20 minutes by telephone or video call, is free and without obligation. Its purpose is to understand the client's needs and determine whether the service is suitable; it does not include a detailed plan or an organising session.
The on-site assessment has a fixed fee of €40. If the client subsequently accepts a quotation for in-person organising services, the full €40 will be deducted from the agreed price. Travel costs may be added where applicable under clause 8.
Online services are offered as sessions or packages with a scope, deliverables and fixed price agreed in advance. The client physically carries out the actions in their space under Sir Tidy's guidance.
Prices, quotations and formation of the contract
Prices published on the website are indicative. Before work begins, Sir Tidy will provide a written quotation with a fixed price based on factors including the scope, the space, the quantity of belongings, complexity, materials and travel. Any internal time estimate used to calculate a quotation does not turn the service into an hourly engagement.
The quotation is valid for 14 days unless it states a different period. The contract is confirmed when the client accepts the quotation in writing and pays the requested deposit. No additional work outside the agreed scope will be carried out or charged without first presenting the new amount and obtaining the client's written acceptance.
Payment
When a private client enters into the contract at a distance or off-premises, the client normally has 14 days from the date the contract is concluded to withdraw without giving a reason. The client may communicate the decision unequivocally by email to alexis@sirtidy.nl or use the form included at the end of this document.
If the client expressly requests that the service begin during those 14 days and subsequently withdraws, the client must pay a proportionate amount for the service already provided. If the service is completed in full within that period, the right of withdrawal will end only if the client expressly requested that performance begin, consented to full performance and acknowledged in advance the loss of that right. This clause does not apply to business clients.
Statutory right of withdrawal
Rescheduling and cancellation
The client may cancel or reschedule an appointment without charge up to 48 hours before the agreed start time. In that case, any amount relating to the cancelled appointment will be refunded, except for materials already purchased with authorisation or preparatory work already carried out and expressly included in the quotation.
If the client cancels with less than 48 hours' notice, 50% of the price allocated to that appointment will be charged. If the client does not attend, does not provide access or cancels after the appointment has started, 100% will be charged. These amounts may be deducted from the deposit. This commercial cancellation policy is without prejudice to the statutory right of withdrawal described in clause 6.
Travel
Travel is included for locations situated no more than 8 km from Groningen Central Station, as well as for any location within De Wijert-Zuid, unless the quotation states otherwise. The distance from Groningen Central Station will be determined using a customary route displayed by an online mapping service.
Assignments outside this area may be accepted by prior agreement. Any additional cost for transport, parking, public transport, taxi or another means of travel will be communicated and approved before the booking is confirmed. Sir Tidy may decide to waive all or part of such costs; no surcharge will be charged unless it has been accepted in advance.
Client responsibilities and safety
The client must provide accurate information, access to the space and reasonably safe conditions. The client must identify or secure fragile, particularly valuable or confidential items, supervise pets and minors where necessary, and be present or reachable to make decisions.
Sir Tidy may stop or postpone the work if there is mould, a pest infestation, hazardous material, unsafe or unhygienic conditions, risk of injury or another undisclosed circumstance that prevents the work from being carried out safely. Any financial consequences will be determined taking into account the work performed, costs already incurred and the specific circumstances.
Belongings, donations and waste
The client retains the final decision on what to keep, donate, sell, recycle or discard. Sir Tidy advises and organises but will not remove or otherwise dispose of an item without the client's authorisation.
The transport, donation, sale or disposal of items will take place only when agreed in writing. Third-party costs are the client's responsibility and must be approved in advance.
Materials and purchases
Boxes, containers, labels or other materials will be purchased only with the client's prior approval. Unless expressly included in the quotation, their cost will be added separately. Warranties for products purchased from third parties are provided by the relevant suppliers.
Online services
For an online session, the client must have a suitable internet connection, camera and space and is responsible for handling their belongings safely. If a substantial technical problem prevents the session from taking place, both parties will seek in good faith to agree a new date or a proportionate solution, taking into account who caused the problem.
Liability
Sir Tidy will exercise the care reasonably expected of a professional. Unless the law provides otherwise, Sir Tidy will be liable only for direct loss caused by a breach attributable to Sir Tidy. Sir Tidy will not be liable for loss arising from incomplete or incorrect information, pre-existing defects, decisions made by the client, third-party products, or valuable or fragile belongings that were not identified, except to the extent that the loss is attributable to Sir Tidy.
To the extent permitted by law, liability will be limited to the amount paid for the service connected with the loss. This limitation will not apply where it is legally prohibited or in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
Privacy, confidentiality and photographs
Sir Tidy will process personal data in accordance with the privacy policy published on sirtidy.nl and will maintain confidentiality regarding the client's home, belongings and circumstances, except where disclosure is required by law.
No photographs, videos, testimonials or before-and-after images will be taken or published for promotional purposes without the client's prior, specific and written consent. Refusal to grant consent will not affect the service.
Intellectual property
Plans, guides, lists and other materials created by Sir Tidy remain the intellectual property of Sir Tidy. The client may use them personally to maintain their own system but may not reproduce, sell or distribute them commercially without authorisation.
Cancellation by Sir Tidy and force majeure
If Sir Tidy must cancel because of illness or another cause, the client may choose either to reschedule the part not performed or to receive a full refund for that part. In events of force majeure, such as emergencies, severe weather conditions or major transport disruption, the parties' obligations will be suspended for the duration of the impediment and the parties will seek a reasonable solution.
Complaints
Complaints may be sent to alexis@sirtidy.nl with sufficient details. Sir Tidy will acknowledge receipt and endeavour to provide a substantive response within 14 days. The parties will first attempt to resolve the disagreement in good faith.
Governing law and amendments
Dutch law applies. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in accordance with the applicable rules, without depriving a consumer of any mandatory protection. Amendments to these terms will apply only to new quotations or where the client expressly accepts them.
